Sandy works as a freelance language coach for professional musicians, assisting them with pronunciation of German and Gaelic.  She has coached the BBC Singers, the BBC Symphony Chorus, British Youth Opera, the Epiphoni Consort, the Whitehall Choir and other ensembles. She holds a FCIL (Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Linguists – CIOL) as a translator, and has led several seminar sessions on poetry translation for CIOL.  At the link below you may find a sample of her academic writing, a seminar paper on ‘Libretto Translation’ presented at a literary seminar for CIOL Germany in 2018.
